Dr. Imfeld has been treating patients in the Central Florida area for more than 20 years. He specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation, or physiatry. A physiatrist is a little-known alternative to an orthopedic surgeon. His main focus is the nonsurgical treatment of people who experience pain, especially lower back pain and injuries from sports or accidents.
After graduating from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Imfeld received his M.D. from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and completed his specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He has been Board Certified since 1992.
A balanced life is important to Dr. Imfeld, not only for himself, but also for his patients. He specialized in physiatry in order to help achieve that balance. “I wanted the ability to help folks and still be able to spend time with my wife and kids,” he says. Dr. Imfeld was deeply involved in his children’s schools and sports before they left for college. He is still a devoted Ohio State fan, despite all three of his children being graduates of the University of Florida. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys competing in tennis and fast-pitch baseball.
