Dr. Arpit Patel is a dual board-certified interventional pain and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist providing a wide range of pain management services at Florida Pain Medicine in Wesley Chapel, Riverview, Tampa, Zephyrhills, and Brandon, Florida. Dr. Patel takes a multidisciplinary approach to pain management and is expert in various diagnostic specialties and treatments of complex pain associated with spinal and vertebral pathologies. He is expertly trained in a variety of diagnostic specialties and treatments, including fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided spinal and peripheral nerve injections, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, intrathecal drug delivery systems, cancer pain management, and complex headache/facial pain management.

Dr. Patel joined Florida Pain Medicine after completing the prestigious ACGME accredited Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Patel has actively been involved in a diverse group of societies and has been invited to present clinical cases at numerous conferences including the North American Neuromodulation Society, American Pain Society, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, and American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He is a contributing author to multiple publications including Musculoskeletal Pain Conditions from Head to Toe and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Q&A Review. Dr. Patel was the regional editor for the Rehab In Review while in residency. He was one of few selected by the American Pain Society as a scholarship recipient for the Fundamentals of Pain Management seminar in 2014.

Dr. Patel completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY where he was selected as Chief Resident. He served as a Clinical Instructor for spine anatomy at Hofstra North Shore Long Island Jewish School of Medicine. Dr. Patel graduated with honors from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology & Physiology.

Dr. Patel chose the University of South Florida to further his interest in cancer pain management at one of the nation’s top cancer institutions, Moffitt Cancer Center. He also received headache and facial pain training during his fellowship. He is able to perform Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques to provide a more holistic approach to pain management. Dr. Patel will continue teaching as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of South Florida in the departments of Neurology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Interventional Pain Medicine.

Dr Patel is Board Certified in both Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
